Monster Boy’s Next Steps
Hi, guys! It’s been a while! Sorry about that. University got pretty hectic, and I haven’t been able to focus on much else other than work for the past 8 months.
But now, I am finally free, and the Monster Boy final major animation is done!
This is the first thing that I need to address, so here’s what’s going on with that project:
The team and I are still deciding what we want to do with the animation in terms of submitting it to animation festivals and such. Someone festivals don’t like it if you’ve posted your work to the internet prior to entering the festival, so we’re playing it safe by keeping it offline. For now. If our decision changes, or for whatever reason we’re able to put it online ahead of time, I’ll be sure to let you guys know. Sorry about that.
But if it’s any consolation, I have some plans that you’ll hopefully find more exciting.

I say “hopefully” because what I’m about to announce is going to change a few things concerning Monster Boy’s future, and I’m kind of really hoping that you guys won’t be angry with me so I’ll just come out with it:
WEBCOMIC.

Okay, here’s the thing: I have this life goal to get a story of mine published, as a book, before I die. And I’ve had this goal ever since I was about 6 years old. I love drawing comics, I love writing, and I love working on Monster Boy. And what with the internet now being one of the best places to go if you’re an independent artist, what with the rise of sites like Lulu and Kickstarter, I’d be an idiot not to give it a try.
So I do hope you’ll forgive me for putting my starry eyed dreams of pitching MB to television networks on indefinite hold, and instead focus my attentions on making my life goal a reality.
BUT.
I do still intend on making animatics and/or full blown animations (if the voice actors still want to work with me I really hope they do), and maybe some other forms of media, too. If I can learn to do it myself, or get someone else to do it, I’m willing to give it a try!
Monster Boy has taken off SO MUCH over the past year. Seriously, your support has been amazing and - can I just say that you guys are REALLY dedicated to a project that hasn’t even lifted off the ground yet I mean wow—
As such, I really hope I’m not disappointing you all, and that you’ll believe me when I say that I want to give this project my all.
As soon as I have further updates, I’ll be sure to let you all know. I’m hoping that this will be quite an expansive online project, and I’ll be working hard to ensure it happens. Thanks for sticking with me thus far, and, despite this change of plans, I sincerely hope you’ll continue to do so.
